Our Purpose:
To be the expression of Jesus Christ
to our generation and culture, both to those who are
saved and unsaved alike. The objectives that we are
focused on to attain our Purpose are five fold.
EVANGELISM:
reaching out to the Community with a variety of presentations
and ministry expressions; such as revivals, concerts,
conferences, feeding and clothing the homeless to
name a few.
EQUIPPING:
realized through multi-faceted discipleship ministries.
ENCOURAGING:
building one another up in the faith and nurturing.
Home Bible studies is one method, along with other
small group opportunities; Men’s Breakfast,
Ladies Fellowship, Youth Group, etc.
ENLISTING:
incorporating new members in our expression of the
Body of Christ to join us on the adventure of reaching
our generation and culture.
ENPOWERING:
releasing the individual gifts within the Body given
by the Lord to do the work of the ministry.
We believe that
worship is our response to the relationship we have
with God, based on our decision to accept Christ into
our heart as Lord and Savior. These responses can
take form in different ways.
Music:
David divided up some of the Levites to praise the
Lord with music 1 Chronicles 23:5 “…Four
thousand praised the Lord with musical instruments.”
Singing:
When King Hezekiah was King he was restoring the temple
worship and the whole assembly of Israel worshiped,
the singers sang, and those who played instruments
played. (2 Chronicles 29:27-28)
Raising
the Hands: In the Bible when people lifted
their hands it meant several different things. To
“Give your hand” meant that you were entering
into an agreement for either business or friendship
(Ezra 10:19, 2 Kings 10:15), also to raise your hand
symbolizes our willingness to offer all that we have
to God.(Psalms 141:2)
Laying
on of Hands: This is when a leader in the church
puts their hands upon someone in order to impart something
to another. (1 Tim.4:14, Acts 8:19)
Dancing:
When people danced in the Bible it was usually to
celebrate something, like when David danced before
the Ark of the Covenant on its return to Jerusalem
(2 Sam. 6:14-16), but they also danced to worship
the Lord (Jeremiah 31:13).
Speaking
in Tongues: speaking in tongues is when our
spirit and the Holy Spirit communicate in a way that
is not understandable. Sometimes this is done out
loud in the service and sometimes it is just to ourselves.
(Acts 2: 1-18)
Divine
Words: These words are information given by
God to a trusted person that will give the message
properly and accurately. Words of knowledge are information
that informs someone of a certain problem, and words
of wisdom are usually an answer to a problem. Both
are things that are currently happening. (1Cor. 12:6-11)
Prophecy:
Words of prophecy are like divine words, but they
are usually something that is to happen in the future.
(Rom. 14:11-5)
Healings:
When the Holy Spirit touches a person and that person
is cured of a sickness, disease, or infirmity. (1Cor
12: 6-11)
Miracles:
This is when something unexplainable happens that
is not necessarily a healing, like when Jesus cast
out a demon. (Mark 9: 38-40)
